Museum De Lakenhal — Leiden's own art museum

Museum De Lakenhal is Leiden's own art museum, housed in the 17th-century cloth hall where the quality of Leiden wool was once inspected. Inside are early Rembrandts, Lucas van Leyden's Last Judgement and the objects that tell the story of the 1574 siege.

What to see

The Golden Age galleries, the Lucas van Leyden triptych, the restored 17th-century governors' rooms and changing exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The Rembrandt room explains how the miller's son from Leiden became the painter of Amsterdam.
