Walking in Singelpark
The park links bridges, gardens and small parks into one continuous route along the moats, passing the Zijlpoort, the Hortus, the Blekerspark and the windmills.
How Singelpark came about
The route follows the seventeenth-century city wall, once the edge of Leiden. Since 2013 the whole ring has been converted step by step into a single city park.
Visiting Singelpark: practicalities
Always open and free; the ring starts five minutes from the station. A full circuit takes about an hour and a half on foot.
